That the more you get into bicycling, the less and less casual bicycling becomes.
People who are interested in bicycles and buy a hybrid bike next want to buy a road bike because they learned the fun of sports bikes on a hybrid bike and want to ride a bike more seriously.
So, inevitably, the road bike you are about to purchase is usually not an entry-level road bike, but a higher grade road bike.
Most will choose a bike with a carbon frame and serious road components installed, such as DURA-ACE or ULTEGRA.
Not many people who have ridden a hybrid bike at least once will choose a road bike in the $1,000 range for an entry-level bike when purchasing a new road bike.
The term “higher grade” is important when talking about the difference between a road bike and a hybrid bike.
When you ride a higher grade bike, your clothing and equipment also become more serious in their own right.
For example, on a higher grade road bike, binding pedals would be the norm.
And I would go for the SPD-SL, which specializes in riding, rather than the more casual SPD.
Even in terms of cycle wear, people who said “I would never wear such tight-fitting clothes” when they first started riding hybrid bikes will soon be wearing tight-fitting cycling clothes.
In search of a more comfortable and enjoyable bicycle life, they put on tight-fitting cycling clothes, and once they discover how comfortable they are, they become a necessity.
They also equip themselves with helmets and gloves for safety, and carry repair kits to deal with punctures and other problems.
What I’m trying to say is that the more you get into biking, the more preparation you have to do before getting on the bike for whatever reason.
Then, it is not so casual to ride a bike.
Why have two bikes, a road bike and a hybrid bike?
A road bike is a bike to get pumped up on the weekend and say, “Hey, I’m going to ride far today!
For errands such as a short trip to the neighborhood or to a local store, it is a hassle to prepare for the ride and you don’t want to go on a road bike.
With that in mind, a cross bike is a convenient way to get around.
Hybrid bikes are sporty bicycles that can be ridden casually and feel like an extension of a city bike.
Road bikes, which are a hassle to start riding but are extremely comfortable once you get going, are suitable for weekend riding and bicycle races.
Hybrid bikes, while not as capable as road bikes, can be easily ridden anywhere and are suitable for daily cycling.
This is why it is best to own both a road bike and a hybrid bike, as they are completely different from each other.
I find myself becoming a bicyclist.
In my case, I bought a hybrid bike and customized it repeatedly, but I am not a serious road bike rider.
But still, if I am conscious of customizing my bike to look more like a road bike, I will start dressing like a cyclist before I know it.
And little by little, I begin to think that my hybrid bike is no longer a casual ride.
When I started riding my bicycle

When I started riding hybrid bikes, I had no idea what to wear for bike riding.
I thought I would never wear tight-fitting clothes.
I didn’t even think about what to bring, just a key and a light would suffice.
I didn’t even wear a helmet.
In short. I was riding a hybrid bike in my regular clothes, no different than riding a city bike.
In fact, I can continue to ride your hybrid bike with it.
There is no particular problem.
However, if I want to ride more comfortably, it’s a different story, and in my search for comfort, I gradually and progressively start to dress more and more like a cyclist.
Gradually becoming a cyclist.

You are a cyclist before you know it in search of comfort.
Helmets
Japanese traffic laws do not require the wearing of helmets when riding bicycles.
Therefore, many people do not wear helmets.
When I first started riding cross bikes, I did not wear a helmet either.
However, hybrid and road bikes can go 30 km/h on the roadway, and even faster on downhill roads.
On top of that, sports bikes don’t weigh as much as motorcycles and other bikes, so there is no small chance of losing balance due to the road surface conditions.
I started wearing a helmet when I thought I would die if I fell off the bike.
Sunglasses (Eyewear)
I had thought that eyewear might not be necessary, but there are a surprising number of accidents where insects get into the eyes while riding
Also, sunglasses are useful for hiding one’s embarrassment when one’s eyes meet those of a motorist at a stoplight.
Cycling Clothes
I still can’t get used to the tight-fitting clothes, but they are also comfortable.
Cycling essentials are long in the back and have long sleeves.
Wearing cycling clothes reduces aerodynamic drag, dries quickly after sweating, and prevents heat buildup, etc.
It is comfortable only because the clothes are developed for bicycles, and once worn, it is one of the things you will continue to wear for the rest of your life.
Cycling Pants
Few people who ride hybrid bikes wear tight-fitting pants like road bikers.
I also use slacks-type pants when I ride my hybrid bike.
The stretch of the fabric is good.
If you are riding a bike in jeans, it might be a good idea to change at least your pants first.
Tiredness is totally different.
Cycle Gloves
At first I rode bare-handed, thinking I didn’t even need cycle gloves.
However, I started wearing gloves because I kept slipping on the handlebars when riding over bumps and uneven surfaces.
I have started wearing cycle gloves to prevent my hands from slipping on the handlebars and to protect my hands from injury in the event of a fall.
Now I don’t even want to ride without them.
If I fall off my bike, the first thing that gets hurt is my hands.
Binding Shoes
I like to wear binding shoes when I can ride for long periods of time.
Binding shoes allow me to enjoy riding with a slightly different sensation than I normally do.
Backpacks
When we ride our bicycles, we carry more and more things: a flat tire repair kit, portable tools, front and rear lights, an extra light, a change of clothes, a towel, a cycle computer, and two keys for double-locking the bike.
A backpack that can hold all of these things in one place has become a necessity.
A messenger bag would be nice, but riding for long hours on one side of the bike might distort my spine, so I use a backpack-type bag that can carry the weight evenly on my back.
Bottom line, I think the right way to go is to dress like a cyclist when you ride a bicycle..
Just as you dress as a mountain climber when you climb a mountain, the proper way is to dress as a bicyclist when you ride a bicycle.
If you try to dress formally, it will be a lot of preparation and hassle before you start riding.
However, I believe that doing so is a ritual and a path to a comfortable and safe bicycle life.
Once you understand this, you will naturally start wearing and equipping yourself appropriately for riding a bicycle, even if it is a hassle to prepare for the ride.
The better prepared you are, the more comfortable and enjoyable your cycling experience will be.
So, the more you get into biking, the more you have to make sure you are properly prepared before you get on the bike, and road bikes are not something you can ride casually anymore!
It is much more comfortable to prepare properly.
If you start riding without preparation, you will regret it after a while when you start riding.
The world of bicycles is a very deep one.
